My Next Year

by ZUFAN JACOB, May 29, 2009
(Manhattan - Aguilar)

Due to the illness of my husband from July 2008 until now it has been a rough time for me. But thank God he is okay and has returned home. But now I have to do everything by myself: shopping, cooking, laundry and accompanying him to the hospital, church, etc. Because of this I have been attending school only two days a week. I am very happy and proud to announce to all of you that I have obtained my American citizenship. Many, many thanks to my dear Aguilar School that taught me to answer all the immigration questions properly.
We are planning to travel to Europe. We are going to visit all our family members in Sweden. Then we are going to visit our daughter and her family in Treviso, Italy. After that, we will come back to New York. After staying a while in New York, we are going to go to our home in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I am delighted to go home because of the nice climate and the easy life. I will hire people to do the laundry, cleaning, cooking, shopping and all home services. As for me, wherever it may be, there is no place like New York City including my Aguilar School. I will greatly miss you all.
